Weekly Check in March 25, 2010

Last week I posted that I had 9 weeks till Vegas and I listed some goals that will allow me to slim down for my trip.  My husband and I take this trip once a year so we can go out to dinner, hang out by the pool and workout uninterrupted for as long as we want.  Its basically doing everything we can't do here.

As of today, I'm down to 8 weeks.  I noticed that during this past week, I have been struggling with accountability.  I have had to deal with eating a few unpleasant frogs. This somehow distracted me from my true goals and I've gotten slightly off course.  The good thing is is that I'm fully aware of it and I can dust myself off and get myself back on the right track!

Over the past 3 months, we have been working with a behavior therapist.  She comes to our home 2 times per week mainly to work with my daughter.  As a family unit, we are going through a difficult time.  As you all know, change is hard and can be difficult.  Yes, its uncomfortable, but fortunately not impossible!

We are all working on changing our behaviors to improve the family dynamics.  We are learning new ways  to resolve issues that arise.  I've realized it is really important to be consistency!

There are so many paralells here between undergoing changes at home with family members, starting and implementing an exercise and nutrition plan, setting financial goals, or what ever it is that you want to achieve, CONSISTENCY IS KEY!   Know what you want and then create a plan.  It helps to visualize yourself achieving it and then keep in action.  And most importantly, resolve not to quit!
