Putting your own oxygen mask on first!

This information is not new, you've heard this before!  When going through the emergency routine, flight attendants tell parents to put their oxygen masks on first: we can’t possibly help our kids if we’re incapacitated. So why don’t we do this in real life?

Lately I have been struggling with so many things related to life in general.   I am overwhelmed with all I must deal with on a day-to-day basis.   I know we all face obstacles; everyone has stress.  For me, being a mom of an almost 16 year old daughter with autism and a 13 year old son who is dealing with his own issues has left my head spinning. I have come to realize that I have been eating in response to my stress.

Last week I finished up a Turbo Fire 5 Day Inferno Challenge and did quite well; I was happy with my results.  I attribute my success to the structure of knowing what workout I was gonna do each day and planning out my meals definitely helped.

I have found Twitter to be very helpful in connecting with others.  I love learning about others while I share my thoughts.

I am planning another 14 day challenge to kick start my continuous effort to live healthy and be fit.  Minimizing stress is crucial.  I hope you will join me.  More details to follow on Twitter and my Facebook page!

  1. You are so right! If we want our families to thrive, we have to take control and show them how...in ALL areas of life, not just emergency situations. Love this! It sounds like you have a great approach to it all and are taking baby steps to reach your end goal. Keep pressing thru the stress and toward your goals!
