People, Places and Things....

On the eve of Christmas Eve, I tweeted/FB I had posted, "As of this very minute, I am absolutely blessed &very grateful 4 where I am today. It took a whole yr to realize it & was worth every tear!"

People
Looking back on the beginning of 2011, I never thought I'd be in a position to ever type/let alone speak those words.  I knew as I reflected on 2010, I had to change myself and the way I saw the world in order to get the results I was hoping to achieve.  Luckily for me, I was able to connect with some pretty amazing people along the way who have helped me more than they will ever know!

No one is an overnight success.  It takes years in the making.  Lots of hard work, dedication, perseverance and most of all a belief of one's self to know that you're worth it.  The best thing I could have done was surround myself with people who helped challenge me, made me think about things in a different perspective, helped me realize I was responsible for making my own goals happen.

Places
One of my favorite places to be is in my den where I'm able to press play and workout.  This year I have accomplished 3 rounds of P90X, one classic, one hybrid with INSANITY and my 3rd hybrid with TurboFire.  I was able to make the necessary modification in my workout room so that I could workout at 5 a.m. without waking the whole house.  That meant careful planning the night before with the pulldown loop and bands, making sure the TV volume was at 0 and all my gear was ready to go when I got there.  Another place that helped me throughout this year was attending regular Weight Watchers meetings every Friday morning.  Going to a center really gave me that competitive edge to beat the previous week's number.

Things
My Bodybugg, Shakeology and personal development books/audio and Car Smarts, etc.  Knowing my numbers like how many calories I was burning versus how many points I was consuming really made a difference for me.  Shakeology was another game changer.  Just by replacing 1 meal a day made me feel like I was cheating on my nutrition!  It was like eating ice cream.  It helped me feel satisfied until my next meal.  Lastly, another key component to my transformation was my ability to change my mindset.  Changing various behaviors and habits through personal development was critical cause it helped me develop a bullet-proof attitude to deflect any type of ups and downs that crossed my path.  It gave me the fortitude to keep pushing forward in spite of the typical excuses I could have given into.

So there you have it.  Its been quite a year for me.  All of these components have helped me become a better mom, wife, daughter, aunt friend, and co-worker.  My wish for you is that you decide what you want and then find someone to help hold you accountable (PS I could/would love to help) to your goals.  I have a feeling 2012 is gonna be one heck of a year!
