You can be fit at any age

Nobody ages backward.  With that said, aging is not a reason for slowing down athletically. If anything it's a time to focus on the closest thing we have to a fountain of youth: fitness.


Regardless of what age bracket you're in, with the right workout strategy, you can fight back against the inevitable slowdown, build muscle and keep your weight in a happy place.  As much as I love high intensity cardio sessions, it may be time to restructure my routine.  I am feeling it a tiny bit in my joints.

Now is the time to consider consistent strength training and stretching to keep you lean, strong and safe, since in the next couple of decades, balance issues can lead to injuries.  Stretching not only has an effect on flexibility but also builds muscle strength.  Consider integrating yoga once a week into your routine if you haven't already.  

Tip for all ages:  just keep moving!
