First day of Summer, 2010

Are you ready for the summer?  Today is the longest day of the year!  What will you do today?  I am more than ready to give up our hectic routine of busy school mornings, packing lunches, and makings sure the household runs smoothly.  During the summer, everyone has a laid back attitude and we all think about summer vacations, barbeques and having fun!

However, for me, consistency is key and for me, summer is not about taking a vacation from your goals!  It is important for me to continue to plan out my workout routine each week.  I am holding myself accountable to my workouts and crave results!  While my results have been slow, and there are times when I may not notice anything, the fact that I showed up, still says alot about who and am, and what I want to become.

I am very fortunate to be among a great group of individuals who inspire me to want to do more!  I feel I have the tools I need to make things happen but something is still holding me back.  While I admit I do get distracted, I have realized what the issue is and I'm ready to correct it and move forward.

Life is about creating balance.  Its also about living the life you've dreamed about.  I can dream all I want but if I don't have a plan of action, I can just keep dreaming.

Here are my Fit Test Results, Day 1 to Day 15.  I am surprised at the numbers and it just goes to show you that there is always continuous improvement with INSANITY.  You can jump a little higher, squat a little lower, increase your reps within the timeframe.  It never gets old.

Day 1 to Day 15

Switch Kicks = 52 to 62
Power Jacks = 40 to 46
Power Knees = 90 to 90
Power Jumps = 20 to 29
Globe Jumps = 10 to 11
Suicide Jumps = 19 to 16 (what happened there?)
Push-up Jacks = 5 to 10 (really stink at those but I keep trying)
Low Plank Oblique = 50 to 55

I am committed to finish INSANITY early August, 2010.  Once I complete that, I am going to reward myself with TURBO FIRE.  I had the pleasure of listening to Chalene Johnson herself describe what Turbo Fire is.  This info came straight from her lips today:
  1. Cardio Cross Training HIIT workouts
  2. They have a modifier in all videos
  3. HIIT workouts are appropriate even for a beginner to do (no excuses)
  4. The music is off the hook!
  5. It is not just for the female population.  Yes I've seen plenty of men in the preview disk.
