How do you move on from a Setback?

I wanted to research the definition of a set back and this is what I came up with:

set·back  (stbk)n.
1. An unanticipated or sudden check in progress; a change from better to worse.
2. A steplike recession in a wall.
Antonyms: achievement, advance, blessing, boon, boost, success

Every once and a while each of us experiences a set back but its how we choose to deal with it that makes a huge difference.  Lately I've been "suffering" with a change in my thoughts.  Only this isn't unanticipated or a sudden check, its been happening a little bit each day.  While I've kept up with my workouts and feel strong and proud of what I'm able to accomplish with Les Mills PUMP so far, my nutrition is not nearly where it should and could be.  My emotions are tied very closely with my eating behaviors and I haven't been as careful and diligent.

I intend on following my own advice:
"Don’t beat yourself up. Minimize the damage if you can, get back on track ASAP, and simply do your best.  Dealing with a setback can be upsetting but understand its part of the process.  Take each event whether its positive or negative and realize that it has a purpose.  If your having a bad day, just pick yourself up and move on."
Setbacks are NORMAL! Setbacks are NOT signs that you’re weak, you’ve failed OR that you’ll never ‘get there’. They’re just signs you’re human!

While bathing suit season is literally 16 weeks away, I acknowledge that there will be ups and downs each week.  I am focusing on making myself 1% better each day!  I have a goal in mind for Memorial Day weekend and I have a plan in place to move forward from now until May 25.

I do believe that Fitness + Nutrition + Support = Success!

I invite you to check out my Beachbody Challenge Group?
It provides Accountability (in small groups of 5).
  • Everyone starts the same workout on the same date
  • Everyone replaces 1 meal a day with Shakeology - I will help you setup your nutrition plan
  • I have a private facebook page for this group of 5 people + me as your coach
  • Daily check-ins via Facebook - Weekly weigh-ins and measurements - Monthly progress photos

And because I work closely with each person, I only have room for a small number of people in my challenge groups! It’s first come, first serve!   We can do this together!  My next group is starting 2/27/12.
