Time to Regroup

After looking up the definition online, I found this to be the perfect title for this blog post.  Here's where I'm at.

regroup [riːˈgruːp]
vb
1. (Military) to reorganize (military forces), esp after an attack or a defeat
2. (tr) to rearrange into a new grouping or groupings
3. (intr) to consider using different tactics after a setback in a contest or argument
Last week I had blogged about a setback.  Well a couple of things transpired during the week due to a change in a situation which I am familiar with.  Regardless of the familiarity, it still knocked me off course.  I thought I was mentally tougher than that, but little by little it was happening.  I got careless with my nutrition and found myself stress eating in-between meals.  The stuff I'm even stressing about makes absolutely no sense, but to me, it had an effect on my thoughts.  The weird thing about it is that I knew it was wrong but I felt myself drawn to these foods which may now become "red lights" for me.  So Friday and Saturday were not my best days, but I did learn that I needed to allow myself this chance to take a step back and evaluate where I'm at.  I am using this time to remember my WHY and what my goals are.

I came across this and feel it was appropriate to help me get over this hurdle.

"Next time you’re stressed out and feeling hopeless, take a few steps back, and breathe. Remember who you are and what you’re fighting for. You’re never given anything in the world that you can’t handle. So be strong, be flexible, love yourself, and love others. Appreciate the lessons you learn along the way, and keep moving forward."

So with renewed energy I intend on pushing past this obstacle, I am ready to refocus my efforts on reaching my health and fitness goals.  When I do that, it helps me cope with every day life.

I will continue my efforts with Les Mills PUMP.  I am approaching Day 50.  Love the program and know that my results will be even better once I get my nutrition nailed down.

As you know my goal is to inspire and motivate others to help them find solutions to their health & fitness goals.  I also love providing accountability and support along the way.   I realize I'm human too and know its not about being perfect.  Its about being consistent to get results.

  1. Oh I understand that feeling. Two weeks ago I got sick and I think I used that as an excuse to increase my carbs, which led to increased cravings, which led to a day of total sick indulgence in chocolate and candy on valentine's day, which led to me being set back a year ago to when my insulin resistance was diagnosed. It took about three months to regulate my insulin so now I'm back to square one. I too am regrouping and getting back in control, and next time I'm going to remember the why... I hope. We're normal. Let's suck it up and push it forward. I'm with you.
